Luminosity

luminosity_2016-0422On Friday the 25th of November, the first Luminosity event unfolded at the Orange Botanical Gardens.

People with disability, local talents and members of our community gathered for the performance of the year on the stage and big screen.

There was dancing and singing on the main stage, while the 2016 Luminosity videos rolled out on the large TV screens. It highlighted the talents of people with disability who participated and representatives from involved organisations spoke about the importance of all inclusive community projects, like Luminosity.

In the lead up to the project, Wangarang employees participated in art, dance and music workshops – working on the final event project. Art projects have included creating lanterns, which were on display at the event.

Wangarang was also proud to be a part of the project organisation; our supported employees in textiles had the very important job of sewing together calico that was used to create the rainbow serpent for the Luminosity event. We also had Sarah Pickford our key support worker, day programs as part of the organising committee.
