Wangarang is an independent incorporated body, adminstered by an elected board of 12 directors. It is a Section 10 Business Enterprise approved by the Department of Family and Community Services. Wangarang has received Quality Assurance Certification as complying with the 12 National Disability Services Standards.
Wangarang was begun in 1962 by a group of dedicated local residents. It established its permanent home at Forest Rd in 1970; was incorporated in 1975 and adopted the Wangarang name in 1987. Over the years it has diversified its commercial activities into several separate business enterprises, which enable it to offer a wide range of employment options to its employees and a wide range of business services to the community in general.
