Recycling
Wangarang Industries and Orange City Council are involved in a joint recyling operation at the Orange Resource Recovery Centre, centred around the Recovery Shop and weigh bridge. This project aims to reduce the volume of waste going to landfill, by recovering from the waste stream those items suitable for recycling, repair or re-use.
Items may also be donated directly by dropping them off at the Recovery Shop during the operation hours.
The Recovery Shop located within the complex, sells all items recovered or donated, at bargain prices.
The shop is open for purchases Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, Sundays and Public Holidays noon to 4pm.
The operation of the Weigh Bridge implements the user-pays principle to waste management by charging dumping fees as set by Orange City Council.
Waste type and volume is recorded to monitor usage, to determine the success of waste reduction programs and to meet EPA requirements.
